Hoboken Location is closed during the Summer this year!!  

Friendly Badminton Club was established in Elmhurst, Queens, NY by Yuliani Sentosa (World Ranked #7 in the 90's), Bang Soo Hyun (Gold medal Olympic Games in 1996) and Jongky Sukotjo/Nila Karta. We had the grand opening on March 4, 2000 at the First Presbyterian Church.  

In March 2002 Kim Fung took over the management of  the club. And in July 2004, Kim Fung was joined by Wangsa Tanzil to expand the club further. We opened the second location at Jamaica High School on January 15, 2005. Membership grew from 30 in July 2004 to 150 a year later.

In the past 5 years, we have held the NYC Badminton Team Championship title twice; 2002 and 2004. Our members also won in several Individual Championship tournaments in New York Metro Area.

February 05, 2006 was another historic mark for Friendly Badminton Club. We had a successful grand opening day at Hoboken Catholic Academy in New Jersey. Players in New Jersey and around the Hoboken Community were excited about this location.

April 18, 2007, we opened the third location on Wednesday in North Flushing, NY to replace our first location at Presbyterian Church. We also had a succesfull grand opening day at Junior High School 185, community around Flushing & Elmhurst area were very excited when they heard about this new location. So they can practice badminton on the weekday as well.

Now, we have permanent badminton lines at all 3 locations, we don't need to waist our time to put and take off tapes every time we play.

Please do not hesitate to join us. We have all levels of players from beginners to International Champions. You do not have to bring your partner to play because you will find people who will match your level. Just bring your racket, shuttlecocks and badminton spirits and you will meet old and new friends from all over the world. There is a good chance that some of them even speak your native language.

Training is also available for additional fees and you will be trained by qualified coaches. They are directly under the direction of Yuliani Sentosa, who has been our Head Coach since 2004.
